Tourist attractions in Sevilla

Seville is full of impressive cultural sights. The Giralda which is located at the centre of the city next to the cathedral provides spectacular views of the city. Another monument well worth a visit is the Alcazar. This building reflects the Moorish past of the city. It has beautiful gardens are lovely to wander around. Another good place to enjoy the sunshine is the Plaza España which was used in one of the Star Wars films!

The river Guadalquivir runs at the south of the city. During the Feria de Abril tents line the river and people head down here to listen to traditional flamenco music, chat with their friends and enjoy the atmosphere with the party continuing until the early hours! Even at other times of the year it is nice to head down this way and see the Torre del Oro, an impressive watch tower.

Much of Seville’s charm is actually found in the atmosphere. Horse driven carts fill the streets as does the smell of orange blossom. Wandering through the smaller streets you defiantly feel the strength of the town’s history. Seville was home to a large gypsy population and was where the traditional flamenco dance originated from.
